Well, I wish I had seen these reviews when I was looking for accommodation at least, now I understand that my experience was not an isolated problem. I definitely would NOT recommend this agency for future tenants, specially considering the relation between the price and the terrible customer service.
When me and my friend were searching for student houses in Nottingham, we opted for Beeliving because it was one of the few agencies that would accept a short term contract for six months (which, being an exchange student, was the only option at that time) and also because our house would have all the bills included in the rent. The flat had access to the internet, the rooms seemed nice and, despite its small size, it included other things (washing machine, vacuum cleaner, microwave..). So it seemed a safe choice, right?
However, the problems were only revealed later. Overall, our experience with Beeliving included several structural damages in the furniture and an often inconsistent internet which, despite several complaints, would only be addressed several weeks if not months later. We also kept receiving letters claiming that we had not paid the bills (when these should be included).
The most astounding episode we had was when we realized that one of the legs of both dinning chairs was slowly collapsing (which eventually did happen) due to poor conception. Our emails regarding this problem were ignored and our calls had no concrete impact. This went on for months, while we had to use an office chair from one of the rooms and ONE HEAVY SUITCASE to sit, until we went to the agency directly. One day we happened to find the owner of Beeliving there and not only he quickly found a way of providing the chairs the next day, but we also found out that our complaint was never formally registered
Despite the problems we had with our house, I would say that the biggest issue was definitely the lack of honesty and professionalism demonstrated by part of the staff. I am still struggling to get my early deposit back and it's been almost 4 months since I left.
My biggest mistake was renting with bee living for the second year running (more to do with my laziness than anything else). First year they spent the entirety doing building work to neighbouring properties. My housemates, who I didn't know, were doing drugs and playing dubstep at a million db at really unsociable hours and they did nothing despite numerous complaints! This year is even worse! Kitchen flooded and they took a week to fix and there are holes in my bedroom floor they have carpeted over which I sprained my ankle on a few times that they still haven't sorted! And as I write this, the fire alarm is STILL going off every 5 seconds. I told them to fix it a week ago and nobody has come. If you like to sleep without wearing headphones, or prefer your kitchen dry, your house drug free and your floorboards complete, DON'T use bee living. This is a warning there's a reason they have a terrible rating!
