Agree with previous reviewer's comments - big spacious pub, plenty of room to sit, stand, play darts and pool (2 tables!) - to be fair though, the food is freshly prepared on the premises, is quick and good value.
And, they are pleasant enough to cater, with a smile, awkward ones like me who want something slightly off the standard menu - excellent.
And and, they do FREE WIFI - (signal strength very good near the kitchen door) with coffee and teas not a problem - so you don't have to feel intimidated into having a traditional pint or whatever.

The Beacon is a pleasant enough pub for a meal and drink. It's a chain pub which offers a predictable menu of pub grub but the portions are generous and the food is of a good standard. There's regularly special offers available if you're hoping to save a few pennies. The pub is quite large and does lack a cozy atmosphere but it's still a decent venue for a meal and drinks out with friends although perhaps not recommended if you're looking for a party atmosphere on a night out. In the summer, you can sit outside to enjoy a pint or two and the prices and service are average enough to make it a decent enough pub. There isn't anything particularly unique or spectacular about The Beacon but it's still a reasonable place for a meal and a drink, even if it offers little more.
