Stumbled upon Barracuda Bob's while waiting to catch a river boat tour earlier today. I have to say the location and general feel of the place was great and the service was excellent as well. The bar was full service and staff knew what they were doing behind the bar as well. So you may be saying "Why did you give them three stars?" Glad that you asked... We did not have rime to have a full course meal while we were there but we did order the Lobster Bisque and the Lump Crab Corn Chowder. Both were tasty but we are still looking for the crab and lobster. Both soup dishes were really lacking on the seafood side and I think it is reasonable to expect to see some of each on a dish named as such. Don't get me wrong they were both tasty but I don't think we really got our money's worth.
I suspect that some of the other entree items are good from what I could tell but I am just keeping it real based on what we had. I would try it again as the overall place was nice and staff were helpful and friendly. In the mean time you may want to try some of their other appetizer that are on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dina W.Louisville, United States13697590161 Aug 2020
Barracuda Bob's was ok. The wait was about 45 minutes, which was considerably shorter than any other seafood spot on River Street. They text when your table is ready so we just walked around in the meantime.
We had the baked crab dip as our appetizer. It was really good. I had fried scallops, fries and corn on the cob. My boyfriend had the Cajun pasta. I wasn't too impressed with the scallops. They were super greasy. The corn was flavorless and undercooked. My boyfriend loved the pasta!
Our waiter was nice.
I would try it out again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 26 Jun 2018
Table was torn--lots of oil for me, but everyone else loved their dishes. 1 additional star just for the moon pie!
We came here because Alex wanted to try some low country boil outside of Statesboro. They have one option: shrimp. He loved the cole slaw that came with it: "on point!"
Both of his parents ordered tilapia and shrimp with different potato sides. They both liked the dish.
I seemed to be the only picky eater tonight. I got the salmon sandwich without cheese or bread. (I ordered this rather than the salmon dish for the bacon, veggies and fries. Otherwise the salmon dish comes with mashed potatoes.) The salmon was very small and oily! I added a fair amount of salt to the fries plus the obligatory hot sauce. The bacon tasted candied almost. I would not order it again.
We also ordered a moon pie to share. It looked great and I loved the marshmallow middle! I loved the dish but the others weren't impressed.
The atmosphere is nice. I love the wood! They were playing a great 90s list of Madonna and Bare Naked Ladies. Our server Estéban was great. Friendly came by the table just enough. They were very quiet for a Tuesday at 8:30pm.
I would love to see an option to add salmon to a salad. You can add chicken or shrimp. I would have ordered that (though hopefully it wouldn't come out so oily).
Next time: I'll try the swordfish. Or just a salad.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15 Jun 2020
Awesome place! They are social distancing inside the restaurant and I felt very comfortable eating there with my family. The place was very clean and looked even new. Waitress was very helpful as well. My son is usually a particular eater and loved the Cajun pasta to my surprise. The fried food was great and the asparagus on the red snapper platter was fresh and large. We enjoyed our drinks and meals all around.

I almost changed my mind about eating here because it was almost empty on a night when other places were busy, but I committed and the meal was OK. Service was very friendly.
They have Cut Water Non-Alcoholic Ginger Beer but it was served lukewarm. The Cesar side salad was not good, it was hard to finish because it was absolutely drenched in dressing.
Cajun tortellini was good but was also $25. Sautéed shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, scallions, cheese tortellini, in a Cajun cream sauce. You're paying for the seafood I guess but that wasn't the star of the dish, the pasta was. The shrimp were OK but the scallops were small and flimsy, and get lost with the rich sauce anyway. The extra cheese they sprinkle on top of all that cream just seemed unnecessary, I would have loved to have more mushrooms. But the sauce was good, a little smoky, a nice hit of black pepper.
Ambiance is like a sports bar or Applebees, sports and Family Guy on the TV. Sleepy 70's dad rock played on a weekday: Bad Bad Leroy Brown, Lyin Eyes, Rockin Me Baby.
If I was here for the game and sitting at the bar, I think I'd be really happy with the food choices. As a restaurant I think there are stronger options to choose from.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Latricia J.Tatemville, Savannah, United States210626 Jul 2019

Definitely recommend this place for seafood and if you have visitors in town.
They have good selection of beer, wine and cocktail. I have only tried the beer so can't comment about the cocktails.
For my entree, I have tried the Savannah shrimp salad which was really good and the shrimp lettuce wraps, which were good as well. The shrimp sauce was great and added a nice flavor to the wrap. My friend got the salmon sandwich and loved it!
It's a good restaurant for a family dinner or hanging out with friends.
Overall, I had a good experience here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 29 Dec 2016
Barracuda Bob's has a great location on River street and we decided to stop in after exploring. We had wonderful service while dining here. My husband ordered the smokehouse burger (8.95) with BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheddar cheese, which was phenomenal. I stole lots of bites of the burger! I ordered the jumbo lump crab cake with lettuce, tomato, tartar on a brioche bun. The brioche bun was stale and the crab cake was a little cold and fell apart too easily.
We were able to substitute the fries that usually come with the burgers/sandwiches with vegetables (onions/peppers), which were surprisingly very flavorful and delicious. We also tried the mac and cheese side which was just ok---the cheese looked kind of solidified and not really mixed into the macaroni.
Food was overall ok---AWESOME burger, ok crab cake sandwich, but a convenient place to stop by if you're on River Street!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 26 Jul 2016
I came for a quick lunch and overall enjoyed Barracuda's. Over a giant plastic cup of sweet tea (Gaw, i love the south!), I decided to get the shrimp and grits and the fried green tomatoes an appetizer. i don't know what it its about fried green tomatoes, but this simple dish always makes me happy.
The shrimp and grits had a lot going on. It wasn't just a slop of grits with grilled shrimp on top. The grits had some serious creamy sauce with chunks of sausage and had so much flavor. My only complaint is some of the grits were a bit hard, but overall the dish was incredibly tasty. For $14, it was the perfect amount of food and I didn't feel like I was being cheated out of shrimp even though I was in a touristy restaurant on River street.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0
