I've had several different treatments carried out here and I've been so impressed with the professionalism and service, I thought it only right and proper to share!
Alan is my dentist and he is great - personable, attentive and most importantly makes you feel comfortable and confident about the treatment you're having. He takes a consultative approach and makes sure you're happy and clear on the procedures. There have been a couple of different nurses who have assisted at my appointments - all have been charming and equally attentive and help to make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible.
I saw Geraldine the hygienist on my last visit and she too is very good. She's shared some really helpful tips to help me keep my nashers in good condition and to help avoid any further dental work!
Kate the receptionist is beyond efficient. She has a great manner and straight away seems to recognise your voice on the phone and recollects which patient you are, which makes it a very personable service. It's always been very straightforward to get an appointment at short notice, and at a convenient time.
The practice itself is modern, clean and welcoming. Alan's room appears to have all the latest dentistry technology and equipment on hand (along with an eclectic iTunes library full of great tracks which vary depending on the day or maybe Alan's mood; including a nice mix of Jazz, Indie, Classical, Pop!).
I'm lucky enough to be included on my partner's dentist health plan through his employers which does help to reduce the cost of treatment. I'd say the charges for fillings and additional work which I've had carried out to date are competitive (having spoken to friends and colleagues about similar treatment).
This practice feels like a treat to go to and more like a trip to the hairdressers or a hotel than going to the dentists. Highly recommend it even if you don't live in the immediate area. Well worth the journey!
Best Denitist in London. I have never found better
Overall I have impression that this practice is extremely non-professional and careless. I had an emergency appointment with Dr. James Almeyda due to the lump on my gum. Abscess was excluded as there were no signs of active inflammation nether in exam nor X-rays. As dr. Almeyda had no idea what this lump might be, he said he will refer me to hospital. I was told that referral letter will be send out immediately to Guys hospital and I will be contacted by them within a week to set up appointment. Moreover, despite of the fact that there were no signs of inflammation I was prescribed antibiotics "just in case". I believe prescription of antibiotics should not be justified like that but it is not up to me to judge. Being compliant patient I took the antibiotics as prescribed. Obviously that didn't do anything to me and the lump was progressively growing. As it became disturbing to me and as I didn't hear anything from the hospital after a week I gave a call to practice. I was surprised to find out that the referral letter still has not been sent out stating as an excuse that it was forgotten by doctor. I was told I will have to wait another couple of weeks until I get to hospital. When I expressed my concerns of the fact that lump is progressively growing I was told that Dr.Almeyda will call me to discuss my concerns and to help me find alternative options. Unfortunately I never receives that call. I tried to see him at practice without any success and I was again told that doctor will get in touch with me later. Again, I didn't hear from him over the next two days. Finally I got in contact with Guys hospital myself and got the appointment in their private clinic. It seems it will be sorted out finally, but I regret that I wasted my time and money with Barbicans.
