Aura was my regular hot spot back when my friend at London Parties would host their Friday nights there. Comp entry and free unlimited Vodka at our table all night? Oh yeah, I was there. It is also the place I met my boyfriend (father of my daughter).
Aura is a small venue but usually quite packed out, however when it starts to get rammed on the dance floor, the bar staff will remove the seat covers on the benches and ravers are permitted to get up and dance on the tables and chairs!
There is usually a nice atmosphere here, anything goes and you wont get kicked out for having drunk too much (my friend broke one of their vases - no problem!). I have had one of my wildest and most memorable nights here with the girls.
Low-points go to the dodgy music they sometimes play (but just get really drunk and you won't know the difference), and the outrageously priced drinks if you're buying them yourself (again, the drunk thing really helps you not to realise how much you're spending - until you check your account the next day! Ouch).
Personally I've always had a good time at Aura, however I put this down to the company and I could understand how some people may not like it as it's a little cramped and quite expensive.

This event was simply a flying visit but I couldn't say no to heading over to London's hottest area for night life.
Aura had this, well aura, of upper class nights out and was rather nicely decorated! The champagne was flowing and my work colleagues were devouring the canapés that were simply divine! Lining our stomachs for the night of drinking that lay ahead of us, sadly this came to an abrupt end as the freebies soon run out and a glass of wine was a whopping £7.20, yes call me cheap, but I'm used to the bargains of Essex!
I would recommend this club, but it would have to be saved up for a big night out. The decor was lovely and the DJ was playing some decent tunes.

It's easy to walk past the discrete staircase, leading down below the street level on St. James's Street. The clue to the location is the queue that forms late at night (this club opens at 10 and stays open late), and it is worth joining it.
The £20 on-the-door cost and drinks prices make this an expensive night out. The surroundings are beautiful, with beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers, great DJs and charming (and very good looking) staff. Unlike some of the more up-market clubs in the area, there is no celeb-spotting culture, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.

Well this place is either just your cup of tea or not at all. Chances are if you are going you'll probably love it. It's your typical London cheesy club full of pink pashminas and rah blond folk. The clientele is rather young, probably all still at uni or even still at school. The tunes are cheesy pop chart music and the drinks are stupidly over prices. Fun if you are with a bunch of good mates.
