Ashton gate is the home championship side Bristol City Football Club. The biggest stadium in the city (by a considerable margin) it's decked out in the club's colours of wed and white. Also one of the bigger stadiums in the league, it doesn't offer the most intimidating of welcomes to away sides but certainly produces a good atmosphere on week days. Its slated to be knocked down and replaced in the next few years so worth seeing soon before it disappears.
Ticket prices have been climbing steadily over the years tickets and typically between fifteen and twenty quid for an adult (children's prices are considerably less). The sort of experience you have depends strongly on where you're seated. The Atteyo stand, behind the western goal makes the most noise and is most likely to be filled to capacity. The Williams stand, the its right is probably the most family friendly stand but can lack atmosphere. If you want a really hair raising experience go to the Wedlock stand which houses away supporters and also some highly vocal home supporters. The fourth stand, the Dolman, is the largest, and a happy medium between the rest.
They do gigs here too, and when Bon Jovi was playing you could hear it from a mile away. Probably the only place you'll see really big acts in Bristol, it's a shame their isn't a more appropriate venue than a football ground for things like this. Not a bad place to see a performance though.
Home. Of. The. Shit.
(I could elaborate in song but this is probably best left.)
The football ground of the best football team in Bristol - Bristol City. The ground is located in the ashton area of south bristol. Very busy on match days in the area. The ground serves nice fast food and drinks. there is a good club shop too.
Rubbish "stadium" which was built for terraces and has an obstructed view due to supporting posts.
Locals have a tendency to cause trouble when "big" teams are in town because they see themselves as sleeping giants.
For a family club try Bristol Rovers
great atmosphere, refreshments are of a good quality and at a reasonable price, nice and clean. it would be even better if Bristol City had won the game.
Is a good stadium with a good atmosphere. Went there when i as at uni in Bristol. The transport links though could be better!
