Lovely selection of toys and clothes, stock many clothes that my local asda doesnt.
Also a great selection of seasonal products.
MAcdonals also instore so , you can go clothes shopping as they have a very large selection of george clothing some names in amogst them but mainly for kids. Then you could have lunch in the instore Mcdonalds.
Quite a large car park but poorly designed.
Staff are always willing to help, and very helpful.
Best time to go is late evening because the store gets very busy.
To the North of the City on the ring road, you can find Asda - this is a sizeable store, offering an excellent range of George Clothing for men, women and children at very good prices.
Food is a combination of branded goods and asda's cheaper ranges - good for downgrading in the present credit crisis! Fruit and Veg is generally quite good but if you get there late in the day you will be limited for choice. There is also a good range of toiletries and household goods at very reasonable prices.
Later in the evening they reduce a lot of bread and fresh food - ideal for making those pennies go even further.
Queues are often long, but staff are friendly and helpful. Within the store is also a Macdonalds if your kids are driving you mad for food or a drink..
Out of all the supermarkets in Norwich, Asda is pretty hard to beat. A huge range of food (usually the cheapest of the big 5), an enormous clothing section and cheap petrol mean you probably need never shop anyway else
Two minor gripes, 24 hr shopping should mean everything is available all the time. But late night visits often mean a second shopping trip needs to be planned to get all the fruit and veg you couldn't get the first time. And the car park is consistently rammed. Getting a space in the area down by the icerink is fine, but trying to get a full trolley down the slope that leads there has probably resulted in more than one insurance claim
Handy if you live on the outskirt of the city or want to stock up on shopping.
The supermarket is massive and there's lots of different section of items you might not think you'd find. The clothes are the famous George brand which are surprisingly good quality.
They have good deals on electrical equipment too. They currently have a massive 37 LCD tele at under 300 pounds.
Seasonal stuff is also good value. I've picked up some fog juice for just a penny!
They have self service checkouts if you only have a few small items.
The car park is big and have never had a problem parking up.
You get pretty much what you would expect in a large supermarket. As well as the usual range of food and drink, it has got a clothing section, an electrical section, and an entertainment section (CD's, DVD's, computer games etc). It also has a small instore McDonalds, and a small counter for newspapers / cigarettes etc if you are in a rush.
It can be a bit too hectic when it is busy and car parking can be a bit of a pain, but it is open 24 hours, at a night it's a lot quieter if you do not mind having to dodge the staff stocking the shelves! Speaking of the staff, they were helpful the last time I visited, happy to help me find soluable asprin and some baking powder.
One moan - the self serve check-out counters don't always work!
There is also a petrol station which is usually one of the cheapest in the area, and an ice rink next door if you fancy a bit of fun after you have done your shopping!
Another massive store in Norwich! It's got a petrol station and is open 24-hours (great for students!). This is one of the biggest supermarkets I have ever been into. Now while I was completely lost at the start, when I got to grips with where everything is, and figured out the quiet time to go, there really is so much on offer (and some good deals too). Good place to go for tins of chocs for work at this time of year!
I am in 2 minds about this store it has a massive selection - clothes, electrics, homeware, furniture, food and drink (of course) as well as an instore mcdonalds. however, it is ALWAYS busy. a few times I went there very late at night (11pm andleter) and even then the queues at the tills were awful.
the car park is quite large but it takes a while to find a space. there are barely any parent/child parking spaces, which is really irritating. and the disabled spaces are right by the major exit so doubtless they would be difficult to get out of.
its a good store, just bad queues and car park. take your chances!
This 24 hour ASDA store is situated between the outer ring road and Drayton High Road. It is quite a large store and has a good clothing, homeware and entertainment section. You can also buy electrical goods, have a bite to eat in the coffee shop or get your photos developed. Of course it is a good place to do your food shopping especially if you are feeling the credit crunch as they are competitively priced. However, I have never managed to find a time to go when it isn't heaving. Inside the shop is a challenge but even harder outside is the parking. You can drive round for ages before you find a space. If you are not a confident driver or don't like crowds then I suggest you shop in the wee hours of the morning or shop elsewhere!
This store is just of the outer Norwich ring road. It's a large store that sells a wide range of household and clothing products as well as food. It has a very large carpark aswell which makes parking no problem. This store has lots of great deals on throughout the year not just in sales. Each isle is signed well so you know where to go for what you want. It also sells a wide range of entertainment products such as xbox 360, ps3 games and the consoles. These are all very well priced. Instore they also have a bakery, cheese/cooked meat counter and pizza/fresh fish counter. I always get everything I need here for the lowest price possible. The store is always clean and well presented and all the staff are friendly and happy to help if you need it.
This Asda store is certainly big and offers the shopper one stop shopping.
On arrival the car park is large but it is not laid out very well and it is hard to get parked if you head toward the mother and baby spaces and they are full. The store is very busy but does does however appear tidy and welcoming with trolleys that work etc and a petrol station.
Inside they sell an excellent range of fresh and frozen produce, including all brands of cupboard items and a good selection of beers and wine. The prices are very reasonable and they always have special offers aswell. The store also boasts an excellent range of clothing, household goods and electricals which are all of excellent value and quality.
The staff are very busy, but are helpful. They manage their queuing quite well and it is rare to have to wait too long.
In store there is a MacDonald's that offers refreshment, clean toilets and baby change. So if you get parked especially in a mother an baby space your whole shopping experience will be great.
When it comes to shopping supermarkets this has to be one of my favourites. Although it can be the most frustrating especially if it's really busy and you are up and down the carpark trying to find a space.
This superstore has a large section which sells clothes by their own brand name - George. This are all fantastic value and good quality too. The selection of clothes they sell are really good for not only children but men and women too.
They also sell many toys and items for your home, again these are all excellent value.
Asda has the most offers for food and drink that I've ever seen in one store. They have many BOGOF - buy one get one free, Buy 2 for £x and half price deals.
Although this a very large and well spaced out store it still gets busy in all shopping isles especially at weekends. This shop is open 24 hours a day which is very handy if you prefer shopping later in the evening if you want it quieter.
It has it all under one roof for what I've needed for weekly shops, birthdays, christmas time too.
Excellent 24 hour shopping although you can drive around the car park aimlesly looking for a space. If your lucky to find one then maybe not find your car after. I always seem to loose my car in this car park. Think there should be well signed sections to the car park to avoid this.
The petrol station next to it is an excellent idea. Fill up, get in car and drive up to cashier in booth where you can still pay with any method of payment.
The clothes and household items are very competitive I can never resist a look around before grocery shopping and always have a few things in my trolley without them even being on my list!
It has a macdonalds and restaurant which is handy if you need to eat before or after your shop. I always try and eat b4 so avioding buying everything in sight.
Their fresh pizzas are gorgeous and so are most of their cakes in the bread and pastry section.
There are also handy cash machines outside and just inside is a photo developing part plus dvd and computer game sales.
Toiletries here are cheap and a massive selection. Plus plenty of freezer food choices including asdas own which are tasty.
A good all rounder!
situated on the edge of the city is a large asda store. with a large car parking area if this gets full people use the adjacent sports hotels car park just a wee bit further to push your trolley. always a good amount of different size trolleys including ones for babys and car seats. inside aprt from the groceries. wine. health section is homewares a very good sized george clothing dept which offers good value clothing. as well theres a cd/ dvd/ games dept. asda in all areas offers good value for money and has many offers on at any one time. has a small mcdonalds concssion in store situated near checkouts.also just in entrance is the kiosk which sells newspapers and sandwiches handy if just popping in for lunch. on entry or exit depending which entrance using is their reasonably priced petrol station
have found shelfs always well stocked when ive visited and their bakery is just nice fresh bread
Well you cant go wrong with this store thats for sure. My favourite by far. I think its amazing and actually get quite excited about it, how sad!. The staff are impeccable, the layout has been too busy of late but always well stocked. An ace idea being open 24 hours. Complete luxury going in at 1am and its quiet, thats my kinda shopping. The clothes selection at george in asda is very competitive.
