A lot more than just pizza, set menu is good if you are hungry, about 7 courses.Well hidden but seems to get busy around 8. 5 stars says it all not cheap but if you are looking for something special try here.
We were strolling around in the old town of Pisa when the kids got hungry and angry (it comes in pairs). We couldn't find the restaurant we were looking for, so we stopped at this place. The staff was ouside smoking, but friendly enough to lock the kids bicycle to the trolley in front of the restaurant.
When we entered the restaurant we were impressed by the huge selection of wines, which is part of the interior. We were the second guests in the restaurant but the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. I'm not sure but it could be they have more tables upstairs. The ceiling seems pretty old but the rest of the interior was not overly impressing.
The menu serves a nice range of tastes but is not too long to make it difficult to make a selection. Staff quickly brought some bread to ease our starving youngsters. I decided for a Tuscan bruschetta type of starter with four different flavours, which was delicious. Primi piatti was then pasta with spicy sauce (cant remember the exact name) and my wife had one of these Tuscan soups made of vegetables and bread. Again both delicious. My second platter was lamb chops with vegetables. This was good but not overwhelming. However the wine which was a Brunello di Montalcino 2006 was very nice again. The kids had pasta with meat? Kinda like Bolognese but no tomato sauce. Apparently this was again Tuscan style. However they liked it.
We also had some coffee and dolce and I think we paid a moderate price of 88 Euros plus tip.
Staff: super friendly
Ambience: very nice
Food: very good
