Excellent service, and the best lamb madras and pilau rice to be had. Generous with the pickles, as well, which makes a big difference. Always leave there feeling full, happy and buzzed on spice.
Prices have been climbing recently, therefore 4* instead of 5*.
Another stalwart of the Chiswick High Road, It has been there for a long time - certainly the 12 years I have lived here and it is my favourite Indian.
Traditional and simple in design with table clothes and wallpaper that has probably been there since it opened it is a great place to sink a few cobra's and tuck into your favourite Indian dish. All the normal Indian dishes are on offer and they have a few house specials of the tandoori variety. Something for everyone on the basis that you like Indian food.
If I were to be negative in any way the prices seen to have crept up of late and a couple of times recently the service wasn't up to it normal standard. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch and they will soon return to being the best in Chiswick.
Expect to pay circa £30 for two - takeaway service also available if you want an Indian in front of the box.
Spotted this on my way home and decided to try it out for dinner. I got a Lamb Balti, Special Fried rice and a Keema Naan. The Balti was superb even if the meat was a little bit fatty, but the Naan was one of the best I have tasted.
I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. The service, food and experience is excellent.
This is my favourite place in Chiswick to go out for a nice curry. We've taken a few friends there on a night out, and we've always enjoyed ourselves.
The staff always make you feel welcome, and you get great service. I've never had to wait long to be served, or for the food.
The last time I went I though I'd be adventurous as I'm no expert in Indian food, and usually go for the safe options as I can't cope with too much spice. I chose the meat thali, which is almost like a party platter for one with lots of different things to try. It was delicious and I loved it! I think it came with pilau rice, tandorri chicken, a kebab, daal, and a naan bread, which meant that it's also really good value!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. They do takeaways too, but I've never used this service
One thing Chiswick seems to lack is a decent Indian restaurant, and for me, Annapurna has done little to address this. Every time I've eaten here, be it takeaway or in the restaurant, the dishes have been nothing more than satisfactory (although thankfully nothing less either). It is good enough to make it a choice if one has a lazy curry craving but there are far better curry restaurants all over West London, if not necessarily in Chiswick.
Nice place. Very good service. We started with samosas and then with a spicy lamb with rice. My wife's paneer wasn't very good though.
This should really be my dad's review as he's been going to the 'purna for about thirty years now, but it's a decent curry house without being anything outstanding. What really marks it out from the rest of the crowd is the service, the staff work really hard and they are always attentive to your needs. Saturday nights can be rather busy, and its best to get in before the pub fallout. The decor is classic curry, lots of pastel shades and deep cushioned chairs. Overall, if you want a decent meal, not too expensive for London in a comfy atmosphere you can't go far wrong.
II am not a great Indian lover so when my partner dragged me to Annapurna on Friday night I was dreading it. But the food and service was amazing. The staff were very friendly and polite and really made sure that we were enjoying ourselves. I am a vegetarian who hates spicy food, so an Indian usually isn't the best place for me but the menu here held a wide variety of vegetarian dishes and you could choose how hot you wanted them. The onion bhaji I had for a starter was fantastic, very thin and crisp and not dripping in oil like they usually are. Highly recommend this place.
