The location of Angel On The Bridge is undeniably amazing as it sits aside the Thames. Oddly we were not allowed to sit outside if we wanted to eat, though. So instead we ate in their restaurant section (Angel is divided into bar/restaurant).

We both got the cheeseburger for our main meal, which personally felt slightly under cooked. It was high quality meat which was nice and actually tasted more American than most burgers I've had in England.

They have some great beers on tap, I was happy to try the Brakspear Bitter being that I was in Henley and all. Also had a Kronenbourg, solid prices on pints.

The desserts were personally my favorite part of what Angel had to offer. Our waitress was extremely nice and talked to us at length about popular British desserts and what we should try being that we weren't locals. I ended up having a chocolate tart/ice cream combo and my girlfriend got the homemade bread and butter pudding with custard at the recommendation of the waitress. These desserts were really great and had A+ texture (I LOVE TEXTURE).

The pastry crust to both desserts made me want more and more and more. The bread and butter pudding almost tasted like a soft buttery sugar cookie and was absolutely delicious. The tart was a thick, very chocolatey and firm dessert but the pastry crust and the chocolate chunk topping gave me a foodgasm.

The desserts are about 5 pounds each and the burgers 10 pounds. Wished we could have sat outside, but other than that it was a solid place all around!!

I've now been barred from here for leaving a bad review (about broken glass in a Rissoto) on TripAdvisor. Sadly I can't leave a negative star review.

This is a charming pub nestled on under Henley Bridge. It has a lovely terrace on the banks of the river, which is great for a summer evening. Inside it is small and cosy and has a great atmosphere especially on a cold rainy night.

I have spent many a long evening here sitting outside and watching the world go by, and if you are ever in little old Henley I would throughly recommend a stop in The Angel

This is really the only place to eat in Henley with a waterfront.

If in Henley on a Sunday then get a really good Sunday roast here, it's all good traditional English food. Nice river view and good prices.

Because of the location you won't get any direct sun after about 6pm but before then you can be by the river, get a tan and eat good food.

It can get very busy but give the guys a few extra mins to get your drinks. Staff try their best to help. If in Henley you must give it a go. They sell Oxford Gold Beer also which is a plus in my book also

We had a great meal with friends before we start our adventure of walking the Thames.

Nice outdoor benches with river view.
Low quality food, chewy lamb in a watery gravy.

Great setting in the summer with tables along the river. Didn't try the food though. It looked quite pricey!

Outrageously expensive, very ordinary food. Appallingly slow service, with not even an apology. Never again!

Given the tourist-friendly location, right on the river by the bridge in the middle of Henley, there would be a danger for this place to drop its standards and charge through the roof. It has done neither in my view. Good beer, and the bar menu is good and not too expensive in the light of the location. I don't know what the restaurant food is like, but the service has always been fine in the bar and on the terrace for me.
