Alsterperle is located right at the Außenalster which is this place's biggest advantage. It is a very nice bar/café if you want to have a decent drink and enjoy beautiful scenery. If you go towards the end of the day you can witness a beautiful sunset and if you are lucky you'll get to see swans. It is also perfect to read or to simply enjoy nature. Bring your dog, friends, family and relax while staring at Hamburg's skyline.
Drinkwise I had a red wine, which I personally didn't like, nevertheless I had a very good time and will definitely go back (i'll go for coffee or beer next time) ;)
Mucho love,

What's not to like? Open air, good beer, friendly crowd, lake views, sausages and potato salad from the grill! Alster perle is my favorite stop off on my nightly cycle around the lake.
Don't come in the winter, but in the warm summer evenings, it's a must.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anja W.Hamburg, Germany492324112 Jun 2013
A great spot to have a drink and/or snack and relax in Hamburg. Enjoy the nice view and the nice athmosphere of the Außenalster.

I am very sad that this place, with its gorgeous view of the Alster Lake and perfect location only 300 meters from my apartment, has the WORST prices, service and quality of food and drinks!!!
BAD: A small (200 ml) Latte Macchiato will cost you EUR3.50 in a PAPER CUP. I asked for a glass because I wanted to experience the luxury of hanging out in a posh cafe and they said after I paid that when they get busy, they only serve coffee in paper cups. Plus, they don't even use a real espresso machine. Just one of those push-button automatic coffee makers. They wouldn't dare serve you a pint of beer in a plastic cup, so I don't understand why they can't just use the same EUR1 deposit system on Latte Macchiato glasses as they do on beer glasses.
BAD: A Portuguese Pastéis de Nata will cost you EUR1.20. The one I had this morning was EXTREMELY stale as if it had been sitting there for two days. They served it to me on a napkin, not even on a plate! Even the fast food sandwich shop around the corner has the decency to serve pastries to me on a plate and with a fork.
They have the prices of a high-end cafe and with the view of the lake and their expensive umbrellas, modern furniture, outdoor heating elements, matching cushions and blankets, you'd expect them to have high-end quality. Instead, you get the quality of a run-down, cheap, self-serve cafeteria.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
