Oh god, this place is so pricey but it's so nice.
£27 for a handwash that makes you want to wash your hands over and over again, shampoos, hand creams and all manner of other smellies. But best of all, POST POO DROPS (in collaboration with A.P.C.) - just put a few drops in the toilet water after taking a number 2 instead of spraying those nasty air fresheners. My mum bought two as Christmas presents.
Make sure when you pay you ask them to give you loads of free samples to justify the hit on your wallet.
Why only four stars and not five?
Well, it's the comparison with the Islington branch... Don't get me wrong, I do love Aesop and I think the customer service provided is so great by all means, but Islington is simply better.. The shop is more spacious, the interior is nicer (especially those water pipes - hand made glass, specially designed and produced for Aesop Islington) and the sales guys were more knowledgable...
Yes, Aesop is not one of the cheapest cosmetics I have ever used (especially considering the scrub I got cost the same as my vintage winter coat..), but since we all are probably aware that what you put on your skin, sinks into your body, its investment worth doing...because in my opinion, who would want chemicals and not good things floating in blood, right?
Aesop gives me a case of the marmites. I want to use their handwash every 5 minutes but their body washes smell a bit... mmm... not like something I want to rub on my body. I guess there's something nice about having very distinct smells in that once you find one you like, you feel like you've discovered the best thing in a sea of things that weren't for you, but I could do with a couple more options in some of the ranges other than coriander and rose, there's gaps in your spectrums :(
I came in here looking for advice on a skincare routine, fully prepared to buy a product or two to try, and instead walked out with a shedload of advice and a bag full of samples. I love that instead of asking me to invest up front, they recommended I try their products for a week, see how I got on, and then I could buy once I knew what worked/didn't. No pressure at all, and I left feeling like a million bucks! :)
Loved this Shop. Fantastic products.
I had positive experience in the one located in Notting Hill.
Look forward to go back again!
