This is a great beach with a mix of rocks and sand. There is some castle ruins very close by and a large hill at one end of the beach, which can be climbed for a spectacular view of the beach and town. There are also some small caves at the bottom of the hill on the beach. The beach and the water is always clean and there are large rocks on the beach which can be climbed on. There are also strange rock formations at various points on the beach which tend to have lots of wildlife on them.
There are pubs and clubs near to the beach and plenty of other attractions. There is also a pier which has an arcade and bar on it.
Ooverall a great beach with great variety.

A mixed fairly dark sand and shingle beach but pleasant enough to walk on. The water is good for swimming and surfing too. It's a safe family beach with a lifeguard during the summer, disabled access and nearby toilets. There are many cafes and kiosks for ice cream and snacks and the beach is very close to the town as well. Nice views of Constitution Hill and the Georgian hotels and guest houses along the promenade and some great sunsets to be seen here too.

The prom at Aberystwyth is absolutely fantastic, and is really the making of Aber as a town. It is so well maintained (despite the storm damage) and it always seems so clean so props must go to the county council for that.
Besides the obvious strolls along it there is also the pier complex which houses a snooker club, a bar, a nightclub and a reasonably sized arcade for the kids (and adults). This variety helps to keep the prom ever popular and should continue to do so for many years.
